Substack…Why I’m starting on it (and taking you along with me)

There’s something interesting happening online right now, and a lot of it revolves around Substack.

People are getting tired of constantly chasing algorithms, creating endless short-form content, and trying to fight for attention on platforms that seem to change every five minutes.

And honestly, I think a lot of business owners are craving something slower, deeper and more meaningful.

Why Substack?

That’s why I’ve decided to start a Substack.

Not because I’ve mastered it.
And not because I have some secret strategy.
Definitely not because I think every new platform is automatically worth your time.

I’m starting it because I’m curious.

I want to see what happens when content becomes more conversational again. When people subscribe because they genuinely want to hear from you, not because an algorithm happened to place your post in front of them for three seconds.

What I’m most interested in is whether Substack can create stronger relationships with an audience than traditional social media currently does.

Sp instead of pretending I already know the answers, I’m going to document the process publicly.

The wins.
The mistakes.
What works.
What doesn’t work.
If it feels easer than social media.
Or if it feels harder.
Whether it actually helps grow a business.
And whether it’s something small business owners should genuinely be paying attention to.

Because I know I’m not the only one looking at new platforms and wondering:

Is this actually worth my time?

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing:

  • how I’m setting it up
  • what I’m going to be posting
  • how the engagement looks in the beginning/middle and established
  • how it compares to other platforms
  • whether it feels sustainable
  • if I’d recommend it to clients and other small business owners.

Think of it as a live experiment.

Are you curious about Substack?

If you’ve been curious about Substack too, you can learn alongside me without having to figure everything out alone.

And if it turns out to be brilliant, we’ll know why.
If it turns out to be overhyped, we’ll know that too!

Either way, I think there’s value in exploring how online connection is changing, especially for small businesses trying to build real communities instead of just collecting followers.

So this is the start of the experiment.

Let’s see where it goes… I’ll come back and add a link to subscribe when I’ve set it up and I’ll make notes on what I’ve done if you want to follow along.
